SPORTS NEWS

Welcome to the 2025 school year! My name is Anna Ittensohn and I am thrilled to be your child’s Health and Physical Education (HPE) teacher once again here at Tingalpa State School. As we begin another exciting year, I am eager to introduce the students to a range of dynamic and enjoyable activities that will not only help them develop their physical skills but also enhance their overall wellbeing.

Throughout the year, the students will participate in a variety of sports, fitness challenges, and health-related lessons that aim to foster teamwork, resilience, and a love for physical activity. My goal is to create an inclusive and positive learning environment where every student feels encouraged to give their best, try new things, and have fun.

In addition to regular HPE lessons, we will also be participating in the annual Inter-house sporting carnivals and other extra-curricular sporting events throughout the year. These activities provide excellent opportunities for students to engage in friendly competition and showcase their talents.

I am excited to work alongside you and your child in making this a wonderful year of growth, achievement, and fun in Health and Physical Education.

10 – 12 Years   BAYSIDE DISTRICT SCHOOL SPORT TRIALS

Students born in 2015, 2014 and 2013 have the opportunity to trial to represent the Bayside District School Sport in a number of sporting events over the course of the year. To trial, students will need to have a very good knowledge of the sport, rules and have a high level of skill. A parent/caregiver will need to support the trialling child by transporting them to and from the trial, along with supervising them as needed.

Please find below a list of Bayside District Sport trials held this year in chronological order. If your child is interested in trialling in any of the sports below, please complete a Bayside District Sport expression of interest form. See attached link or collect a form from the school office. Please ensure that you refer to the suitability to trial checklist below when nominating.

Bayside District Sport also hosts three major district trial carnivals across the year, Swimming, Cross Country and Track and Field.  For many of these trials club participation, professionally recorded times or proof of distances competed may be a prerequisite to attend the event. Nominations for these events come from the school only.
