DEPUTY PRINCIPAL - Matt Jones
Wishing our families a safe and restful Term 3 holiday.
As Term 3 comes to a close, I would like to take a moment to wish all our families a safe, relaxing, and enjoyable holiday break. Whether you are travelling, spending time with loved ones, or simply taking a well-deserved rest, we hope you have the opportunity to recharge.
Thank you for your ongoing support throughout the term. We look forward to welcoming everyone back refreshed and ready for another great term of learning and growth.
Mathematical Problem-Solving with Michael Minas
Last Thursday, we were excited to welcome Michael Minas to Tingalpa, where he delivered engaging mathematical problem-solving lessons to several classes. This was a fantastic opportunity for both students and staff to experience problem-solving in action, with a focus on deep thinking and rich discussions.
This visit forms part of our ongoing investment in the implementation of the new Mathematics curriculum. On Friday, we extended this learning by hosting staff from Wynnum West State School for a full day of professional development. Together, we explored how to design and structure effective problem-solving lessons and how to integrate them meaningfully into our teaching practices.
A big thank you to the classes that hosted Michael Minas and to all staff for their continued commitment to extending their knowledge and skills. It was an inspiring two days of learning and collaboration, reinforcing our dedication to delivering high-quality mathematics education across our school community.
