Prep to Year 2 Reading Session
Our Prep to Year 2 Reading Session is Wednesday 10 September 2025 in the school hall. Please come along to hear all the exciting reading processes we are using at Tingalpa State School.
Prep 2026
We have commenced our group enrolment interviews for our 2026 Preps. If you have not completed your enrolment form, please do so immediately. Once your paperwork has been received you will receive a link to book your enrolment interview. Dates for our transition program will be finalised in the next week and published in our next newsletter.
Please recommend to your family and friends the importance of our transition to school programs. They assist our students in making a strong start to Prep.

Instrumental Music - A message for Year 3 Families
Year 3 students have received the Expression of Interest form for consideration of participation in instrumental music for 2026.
Instrumental Music is much more than just learning to play an instrument – it helps students grow personally and academically. Some of the benefits include:
- Improved attention span and concentration
- Strengthened fine motor skills and coordination
- Development of listening and memory skills
- Increased perseverance and resilience
- Boosted confidence through performance
- Building teamwork and communication skills
Expression of Interest forms are to be returned to the office by Monday 1 September 2025.
Year 3 students who have returned their expressions of interest forms will participate in the next stage of the process with Ms Finlay and Mr Allen. Suitability testing will be undertaken Monday 8 September 2025. Offers for the program will be sent in Term 4.

24 - 30 August is Speech Pathology Week. The theme for this week is "Impact Through Communication". Speech Pathologists make a difference.
Thank you to our speech pathologist, Mrs Bernadette O’Reilly. She visits our school throughout the term to support staff with reasonable adjustments and modifications to support speech, language and literacy development.
