Reporting an Absence

Parents are reminded that if their child is away from school, could they please phone the school early in the morning. Parents can call our ABSENTEE LINE on 3890 6766 or notify us through QParents explaining your child’s absence from school.

Extended Absences

If your child/ren are going to be absent from school for more than 10 days, you will need to complete an Exemption from Compulsory Schooling form. Please call into the office for the form.  Please note that if you are taking your child/ren out of school through the term, they will miss work and possibly assessments while they are away.  We are unable to guarantee that assessments will be done when your child returns to school.

NAPLAN 2025

Last week, Year 3 and Year 5 NAPLAN individual student reports were sent home to families. These reports are a time for us to reflect on our students’ performance and correlate the NAPLAN data with our Semester 1 report card data. Tingalpa State School has again performed above the state in line with our school ICSEA rating.

PREP 2026

A reminder to families that enrolments are open for Prep 2026 and places are filling fast. If you have a child born between 1 July 2020 and 30 June 2021 you can enrol them for prep by lodging a completed enrolment application. It is important that applications are lodged as soon as possible as we are hosting enrolment sessions this term.

As an enrolment managed state school, applications are open to students who reside in catchment. Siblings of currently enrolled students who will still be in attendance in 2026 also qualify as 'in catchment'. Families outside of our catchment are welcome to put their names on our school waiting list.

We have needed to postpone our Pre-Prep Enrolment session on Wednesday 6 August 2025 due to the Industrial Action taking place on this day. We will be in contact with those who have indicated that they wished to attend this session. We appreciate your understanding in these unforeseen circumstances.
