NAIDOC Didjeribone Incursion
On Thursday 24 July, we were fortunate to have Tjupurri perform his Didjeribone Show at Tingalpa as part of our NAIDOC program. It was a spectacular and engaging perfomance produced by Tjupurri himself. He captivated our students with his live interactive performance. He interacted with students using a unique seismic sensor, to create ingenious and innovative songs and sound scapes. Our students thoroughly enjoyed the Didjeribone show, and it was wonderful to see their smiling faces and hear the laughter that filled our school hall as he engaged students throughout the show. If you would like to see more of his amazing talents, check out his website at the following link https://didjeribone.com/performances/

PJ Day – Friday 25 July
Friday 25 July was National Pyjama Day. As a school we raised $483 which has been donated directly to the Pyjama Foundation. Thank you to everyone who donated to such a wonderful cause.

5/6B HASS Lesson
Students used Gummy bears in their HASS lesson to demonstrate their understanding of 5 different systems of government. They explored the key features, fairness/unfairness of each and recognised which system of government Australia follows. Students had to categorise the examples into their appropriate type and then record these key features into their books.

Containers for Change competition
We are excited to announce that our Student Council is running a Containers for Change competition this term – and we need your help. Students are encouraged to collect and bring in eligible 10c containers (such as drink bottles and cans with the 10c image) each week. All items collected will go towards raising funds for our P&C, supporting valuable programs and resources for our school community.
How it works:
- Students to collect 10c containers throughout the week in their classrooms, ‘containers for change’ bag. Please ensure that these have been rinsed prior to bringing to school. No alcoholic containers can be brought into school for our collection.
- Each Friday, totals will be counted by the Student Council and containers will be placed in our school’s Containers for Change bin.
- A running tally will be kept throughout the term.
The winning class will be announced at the Week 8 assembly, and a special reward will be given!
This is a fantastic opportunity for students to get involved in fundraising, sustainability, and a little friendly competition. Every container counts so let’s work together to make a big impact for our school and our environment.
