What a Term!

It’s been a busy and exciting term filled with learning and many memorable moments across the school. From whole-school events to classroom-based activities, it's been great to see so many students participating and making the most of the opportunities on offer.

Thank you to our amazing parent and community volunteers throughout the term. Your time, energy, and support play such an important role in enriching the experiences of our students and making our school such a positive and inclusive place.

As we wrap up Term 2, I want to wish everyone a safe, restful, and happy winter break!

Report Cards

Report Cards will be emailed home on Tuesday 24 June 2025. Emailing report cards has a significant impact on the environmental footprint of the school by reducing printing and paper usage.

To ensure that parents/carers receive their child’s report card we need to update family contact details. If your contact details have changed, please contact the school office. Where students reside in two homes, it is important that all family members have the correct information listed with the school, so both parents/carers will receive a report card via email.

To ensure you receive your child’s report card, please add the following email to your safe senders list so the report card email isn’t sent to your Junk folder.

Queensland Cricket Visit – Years 4 to 6

On Tuesday 17 June, students in Years 4 to 6 enjoyed a series of engaging cricket lessons facilitated by Queensland Cricket. Six aspiring cricket coaches led dynamic sessions, helping students build skills, teamwork, and confidence in a supportive environment.

This event is part of our broader GALA Day program, which provides students with enriching sporting opportunities throughout the year.

We would like to extend a sincere thank you to Queensland Cricket for partnering with our school to offer this fantastic opportunity for our students.

Thank you also to all the teachers who made time in their busy schedules to supervise the sessions, and a special thank you to Lisa Leclerc and Jo Lovejoy for their outstanding support of our students on the day.

Students thoroughly enjoyed the day, demonstrating excellent sportsmanship, cooperation, and encouragement towards their peers. It was fantastic to see so many students giving their best effort, trying new skills, and showing respect to both the coaches and each other.

"We loved the Queensland Cricket visit! The games were fun, the activities were engaging, and everyone got involved. The coaches were kind, helpful, and inclusive – they adapted the activities for different skill levels and gave extra support to students who weren’t feeling confident. They really paid attention to everyone. We especially enjoyed playing Diamond Cricket – and some of us had fun aiming our shots at Mrs B!” Quote from 5/6A for Queensland Cricket

Parade Reminder

We’d like to inform families of a small but important change to the structure of our fortnightly parade.

From now on, class presentations and student awards will occur earlier in the program, taking place immediately after the following opening elements:

  • Acknowledgement to Country
  • Australian and French National Anthems
  • Jandai Language Vocabulary

This change ensures students are celebrated early, supporting greater focus and engagement from all.

Please adjust your arrival times accordingly so you don’t miss the chance to celebrate your child’s achievements.

Additional reminders for Week 10’s parade:

  • The Choir will be performing.
  • Athletics Age Champions will be presented with their awards.

Monty's Colour Fun Run – A Splash of Fun and Fundraising!

Our school came alive with colour, energy, and excitement during the Monty's Colour Fun Run! Students, staff, and families all got involved in this much-loved event — running, laughing, and getting covered in a rainbow of colour as they made their way through the course.

The Fun Run was not only a joyful celebration of community spirit, but also a fantastic fundraiser, supporting our ongoing efforts to enhance student resources and experiences.

A massive thank you to:

  • All the students and families who enthusiastically supported the fundraiser — your generosity and participation made a real difference!
  • The staff who volunteered to be slimed — your bravery and sense of fun created unforgettable moments for the students!
  • Every staff member and volunteer who helped with setup, colour stations, supervision, and pack-up — your efforts ensured the day ran smoothly.
  • And a huge thank you to Lisa Leclerc for her outstanding organisation of the entire event. From coordinating logistics to communicating with families about participation and fundraising, her hard work and dedication were instrumental in making the day such a success.

We are also incredibly proud of our students, who demonstrated exceptional behaviour, teamwork, and school spirit throughout the day. Their positivity and respect made it a safe, enjoyable event for everyone involved.

For families who opted for prizes, these will be delivered early in Term 3. Prizes will be sorted and distributed by the school once they arrive.

Monty's Colour Fun Run was a fantastic celebration of fun, fitness, and community — and we can’t wait to do it all again next year!
