French Bilingual Puppet Show

Next term, we will welcome back Carrousel theatre to our school with a new bilingual puppet show ‘Le livre de la jungle’.

This incursion will be held on Tuesday 29July for our Prep to Year 3 French Bilingual Program students.

An email and QParents notification will be sent to families this week.

Last week was moderation week, a week during which we meet with all the teams and get to see the culmination of the term's work. It is always fantastic to see the results of projects that we discussed during our planning sessions and that we saw come together throughout the term.

I was particularly impressed by some of the writing done in Year 2. Students studied information texts on animals and created a poster on ‘la girafe’. Students had to use specific vocabulary and work on writing grammatically correct sentences.

The Year 4s created some ‘Nanas’ inspired by the work of Nikki de St Phale, a French artist they discovered as part of their research project on remarkable female figures this term.

New Resources

Here are our most recent purchases thanks to your contribution to the French Biligual Program.

Next Semester our Year 5 & 6 students will be reading ‘Le Petit Prince’ a beautiful and timeless French classic. We were able to purchase a book for all our students so they can each borrow a copy. Reading chapter books (oeuvres integrales) is part of the French program in all Year levels and we are very excited to be offering this first independent reading activity in line with our new programs. This is also a part of the high school French Bilingual Program of Whites Hill State College where students will continue their study of French literature.

Volunteers needed to cover our new books

We are looking for some volunteers to help with the covering of our new books. If you are available next week, even for an hour, please let us know via email: admin@tingalpass.eq.edu.au

The Annual arts showcase is being held next Wednesday 25 June. It is a great opportunity to experience what the college has to offer.

Le Festival
