ART FROM THE CLASSROOM
5/6B were inspired by the Colour Fun Run last week so we played and explored the art element of ‘colour’. We spoke about colour mixing and blending and achieved blending using chalk pastels. What a fun way to finish the week!

1/2B have been reading picture books and creating “headlines” from the illustrations in the text. Headlines capture the core or heart of the matter, or in our case, we created headlines around illustrations from what we know from the story or can infer from the picture.
Below you will find some images of fun catchy headlines using the book “Where the Wild Things Are”.

3C wrote some Limericks inspired by the colour fun run.
The Colour Run
We did the colour run in the sun
And Monty got slimed on the run.
All the children raised money,
The teachers looked funny,
And the children had lots of fun.
By Arthur, Henry and Thorin
The Colour Run
Monty the monster is fun
He came to Tingalpa to run.
The teachers were slimed
And someone got blind,
While the children were being sprayed in the sun.
By Gabriel, Chester and Felix
The Colour Run
Monty the Monster is fun.
He came to Tingalpa’s Colour Run.
The colours were spraying
While children were playing,
And teachers were slimed in the sun!
By Alexandria
The Colour Run
If you want to come to the colour run,
You have to raise ten dollars for fun.
Then Monty the Monster
Will come eat a lobster,
While the teachers are slimed in the sun!
