Monty’s Colour Fun Run
Well done to all the children who participated in the fun run last Friday – what a fun and colourful event. Thanks to everyone who helped out on the day to make sure everyone had plenty of colour. A special thank you to Lisa Leclerc for all her hardwork behind the scenes.
Together we raised $33 905 – Fantastic effort everyone.
A massive thank you to the following businesses who also made a donation: Premium Pilates & Fitness and Coffee Club Tingalpa.
The funds are going towards our new playground – it’s going to be so much fun!
Bastille Day Breakfast - 7:30 - 9:30am Friday 18 July, Week 1 of Term 3
The P&C is excited to announce that we will once again be celebrating la Fête Nationale Française with Tingalpa State School spirit in the School Hall and courtyard for our Bastille Day Breakfast!
Bastille Day is a day when our entire school community, both French and Australian, come together to celebrate our bilingual program and French culture over a breakfast of croissants, crepes and other delicious French food.
Our annual breakfast will feature French themed food, music, photobooths and a costume parade. It is a free dress day for all students and parents are encouraged to dress with some French flair. We will be awarding prizes for the best costumes on the day to a junior and senior student.
Parents and carers will need to accompany their children at all times until the start of the school day at 8:45am. Parents are welcome to stay after their children have gone to class, until 9:30am.
Tingalpa State School's Bastille Day Breakfast is one of the many fundraising and community events organised by the Tingalpa State School P&C.

VOLUNTEERS & DONATIONS NEEDED!
Our Bastille Day Breakfast is not possible without support from our school community. There is more than one way to help! We are looking for volunteers to help us on the day, as well as donations of food (crepes, quiches), decor and prizes.
JOIN OUR BASTILLE DAY GOODIES ARMY
We need people who can help us make crepes, quiches, madeleines or French themed cupcakes and cookies.
VOLUNTEERS ON THE DAY:
Just as we need helpers to feed the community, we need helpers to run the event.
Please join our volunteers for our Bastille Day Breakfast and JOIN OUR BASTILLE DAY EVENT ARMY
VOLUNTEERS ON THE DAY BEFORE:
We need help with decorating, setting-up, packing pre-orders, distributing food, selling food on the day and cleaning-up. The more hands we have helping, the better the event will be. You can volunteer for just a couple of hours or for the full event. It’s up to you.
Volunteers will get a free coffee voucher on the day to redeem at the Tuckshop.
Merci!
Containers for Change
Did you know that we also raise money through Containers for Change? Next time you drop off your cans and bottles, scan this QR code and the funds will go to the P&C fundraising campaign.
Last year we raised approximately $1000, let’s see if we can do that again this year!
If you would like to pick up a Containers for Change bag from the office, please do so.
SPOTLIGHT on the P&C
This segment will introduce you to our P&C executive, P&C members and our superstar volunteers. Each newsletter we will introduce you to a different person.
Name: Rowan Udell
Volunteer Role/s: Cooking Democracy Sausages on the BBQ most election days.
Why I decided to volunteer: I volunteer because I’m a fan of democracy in general and BBQing specifically! Since my kids don’t let me sleep in, I’m usually setting up the BBQ and getting the first few trays for sausages and onions ready for the punters.
Children at Tingalpa: Zach (Year 2), Gabe (Year 3), and Raph (Year 6)
When I’m not volunteering: I’m spending too much time on screens (for work), and trying to learn French.
Fun Fact: I’m a chess tragic – I’m not any good at it, but I still enjoy playing it.
