Assembly Update – Class Presentations Moved Forward
We would like to inform families of a small but important change to the order of our weekly assembly.
From now on, class presentations and student awards will be brought forward and take place immediately after the following opening elements:
- Welcome to Country
- Australian and French National Anthems
- Jandai Language Acknowledgement
This change ensures our students are celebrated early in the program, allowing for greater focus and engagement.
Please adjust your arrival times accordingly so you don’t miss the opportunity to celebrate your child’s achievements.
Thank you for your continued support in recognising and celebrating student success!
Chappy Week Fun – Scavenger Hunt Adventures!
This week we celebrated Chappy Week with a school-wide favourite – the Chappy Scavenger Hunt!
Our wonderful Chappy was busy hiding secret items around the school, and it was up to our students to find them! Each day during second break, different year levels were given the mission to hunt for hidden treasures using clues and teamwork.
Here’s how the week unfolded:
- Wednesday: Prep – Year 1
- Thursday: Years 2 – 3
- Friday: Years 4, 5 and 6
The excitement was contagious as students searched high and low across the school grounds. It was a fantastic way to celebrate Chappy Week, build community spirit, and have a whole lot of fun along the way!
A big thank you to Chappy for organising such a creative and meaningful activity—and congratulations to all our keen-eyed scavenger hunters!

Use of Approved Electronic Devices & ICT Expectations
Tingalpa State School – Digital Learning Responsibility
At Tingalpa State School, students are provided access to ICT facilities and devices to enhance their learning. These resources come with responsibilities, and all usage must align with the Tingalpa State School Student Code of Conduct.
Student Responsibilities
- Understand and follow the rules for accessing the Department of Education’s ICT network.
- Use devices respectfully and for learning purposes only.
- Be able to report and exit any harmful or inappropriate content encountered online.
Education Queensland Email Accounts
- Student email accounts are owned by the Department of Education, not the student.
- All communication using this email must reflect school values and expectations.
- Misuse, including inappropriate communication or content, may lead to loss of ICT privileges.
Important Reminders
- The school is not responsible for backing up or securing files saved on Department-owned devices.
- Devices may be remotely accessed for school/departmental management purposes.
- Students who misuse school ICT, may face disciplinary action.
- While filtering systems are in place, harmful content may still be unintentionally accessed. Teachers provide supervision, but responsible student use is essential.
These are reinforced with students at the beginning of every year.
ICT Agreement for Reinstatement
In the event of an ICT infringement, an ICT Agreement will be sent home. This must be reviewed and signed by both the student and a parent/carer before ICT access and privileges are reinstated.
Reminder: No Bikes or Scooters on School Grounds
For the safety of all students, staff, and families, we kindly remind everyone that riding bikes or scooters on school grounds is not permitted.
Students are welcome to ride to and from school, but bikes and scooters must be walked while on school property, including pathways and the undercover area.
Thank you for helping us keep our school a safe and respectful environment for everyone!
