A very big welcome back to all of our families at Tingalpa State School. I hope that you had a wonderful, relaxing Easter holidays spent with families and friends. I am looking forward to an exciting term ahead full of engaging learning experiences, excursions, incursions and events.
Readers Cup Challenge
We are excited to have entered a team into the Reader’s Cup Challenge, a state-wide competition for young readers, organised by the Queensland branch of the Children’s Book Council of Australia. Teams of four to five students read a set of books, and then compete with other teams to answer quiz questions from the books. Winners from regional competitions then compete in a state final. Congratulations to the following students who were chosen to be members of our Tingalpa State School Readers Cup team:

Below is the set of books to be read by the team before the competition on Thursday 19 June 2025. The books will then be added to our library collection for all students to enjoy.
QLD Police Think U Know Session
On Wednesday 8 May our Year 5 and 6 students will be participating in the Queensland Police Think U Know sessions. Students will participate in an evidence-based education program incorporating up-to-date research that is linked to the Australian Curriculum. Presentations help students make informed decisions to keep themselves safe online and how they can overcome challenges through help seeking behaviour. Think U Know ensure they are age-appropriate and relevant to students’ learning. This program also aligns with the Respectful Relationships Education program which is being rolled out as part of the Australian Curriculum.
