Author Talk

On Wednesday 26 February, our Year 3, 4 and 5 students will be participating in an Author Talk by Deborah Abela. Deb endeavours to instil a love of writing in children through her school visits.  Her talks are engaging and interactive.  With her teaching and writing background, she uses images, videos and storytelling to encourage a love of reading and demystifying the writing process to prove it can be exciting and fun. Year Level News - 1C and 1/2B

Students in 1C and 1/2B have started the year off with an exciting unit on information texts, focusing on zoo animals. Throughout the unit they will be reading information texts about different animals, drawing labelled diagrams of animals and using topic specific vocabulary.  They will focus on writing simple sentences using correct punctuation at the beginning and end of a sentence and create images to represent their sentences.

As you can see from the pictures below, the students have been immersed in informative texts and have been creating some fantastic artwork to match the animals they have been studying for the week.
